Best Individual medical health insurance
Individual medical health insurance can be a financial burden, but for many people it is a necessary evil. If it is possible, a group plan purchased through an employer will almost always carry lower premiums but of course this is not always an option. For some people the premiums on individual medical health insurance are just too high; they prefer to accept the risk of getting sick or injured in exchange for saving hundreds of dollars each month in premiums. This can actually be a good option if you are the type of person who is diligent in saving money.
If one is able to save what they would spend each month on health insurance in case of a medical emergency they will, on average, come out ahead. After all, this is how insurance companies make money; the total amount of premiums is greater than the total medical costs for an average person. With that said, most people are not diligent savers. It is quite difficult to put away hundreds of dollars each month and never spend it on anything besides medical emergencies. This is especially true when there are other seemingly important things to spend money on in life like rent and credit card payments.
In addition, many medical emergencies, at least in the United States of America will cost more than a person could realistically save by not purchasing insurance. It is the fear and occasional instances of these emergencies that make individual medical insurance worth the seemingly hefty premiums. An expensive procedure may be unlikely, but the financial repercussions may be devastating for a person without insurance. Individual medical insurance also carries with it the benefit of peace of mind; while you may worry about how much you are paying for this type of insurance, at least you won’t worry about getting sick or the financial responsibility that comes with being in a bad accident. Being insured can also promote healthy habits.
A person who is insured will be much more likely to go to the doctor than someone who does not have medical insurance. These types of regular check-ups are a good way to keep healthy and catch potential health risks early on. Individual medical health insurance has many superior alternatives, from family plans or insurance purchased through an employer. If, however, an individual plan is the only option there are still many benefits to having a policy that one should consider fully before deciding that an individual policy is too expensive.
