A security system is becoming more and more important due to the increasing crime and theft around us. They are able to provide us with video footage, whether live or recorded, within our property. In fact, thanks to the presence of surveillance systems, undeniable video evidences have led to the incarceration of many criminals. This is the reason why a lot of people are protecting their homes and businesses with security cameras.

CCTV stands for closed circuit TV and CCTV cameras have become significant factor in preventing crime. There are many types of surveillance systems available in the market, and each uses different types of cameras, depending on their application.

IP Video Surveillance are based on cameras that take a motion picture and forward it to a central security board (usually a computer) on a closed circuit, inaccessible by the public. CCTV cameras have been in use for several decades now, yet the idea has not changed much since their introduction. The two significant changes are their availability and their recording method. Most cameras today record the motion picture digitally, and the data is stored in digital form on a hard drive or other media.

CCTV was introduced in recent past, CCTV surveillance systems were too expensive but with growing technology CCTV surveillance systems become common, in current security circumstances the CCTV is the basic necessity to produce secured environment. With a growing crime rate, there is a need to grow an effective crime fighting tools and CCTV surveillance systems are some of the best there is. Not only do they act as a deterrent to home and business wreckage, but also collect and save first information report as an eye witness.

CCTV systems are digital now for improved performance, surveillance camera maneuverability, and quicker feedback. Almost all new systems will have a wireless alternative with wireless technology making rapid improvements as well.

A People Counting System is a predefined system used to measure the number and direction of people traversing a certain passage or entrance per unit time. The resolution of the measurement is entirely dependent on the sophistication of the technology employed. The device is often used at the entrance of a building so that the total number of visitors can be recorded. Many different technologies are used in people counter devices, such as infrared beams, computer vision, thermal imaging and pressure-sensitive mats. People counting system is very common among different sectors and plays great deal for not just providing counter’s details but also helps in improving security hazards.

A facial recognition system is a computer application for automatically identifying or authenticating a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. One of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and a facial database. It is typically used in security systems and can be compared to other biometrics such as fingerprint or eye iris recognition systems.

Face recognition system is a type biometrics system, which is used for identification through recognition system to provide mass security measure for better security. It's a computer an application which identifies a person from a digital image.

The ability to differentiate between the background and the face is of high significance in a facial recognition system as this enables the system to identify. Every face has numerous and distinguishable features. The person's facial features are compared, by the system, with those of the one stored in the database. The system makes use of the nodal points, comprising the face print. These nodal points are measured creating a numerical code that represents the face in the database. Some of them measured by the system are as follows:

 Depth of the eye sockets

 Width of the nose

 Distance between the eyes

 The length of the jaw line

 The shape of the cheekbones
