Orangeries - the Buzz Word in the UK Diy Conservatory Market

It is probably the most interesting phase in the development of orangeries as a viable alternative to conservatories for the general buying public to purchase at an affordable price. Innovative and well designed affordable orangery alternatives to conservatories have reached the market over the past few years with stunning reviews for certain manufacturers.

My favorite orangery kit by far at the moment is Ultraframes Livin Room Orangery. The design is a clever addition of a light weight plaster board soffit to the interior, supported by the roof using a ladder type frame structure, and a deep gutter detail to the exterior mimicking the orangery look without the high end cost .Ultraframes orangery is a modern cross over design that sits well with traditional or modern houses depending on what style of frames and doors you use with it. Ultraframe also has a particularly good pedigree for making products that stand the test of time making a market leading combination.

I have noticed with our enquiries that it is this type of innovation that has brought life back to a tired conservatory market that has lost its way . Conservatory manufacturers are often relying more on price than innovation tobring some excitement back to the market.

The modern lifestyle aspirations of the latest generation is not necessarily going to be answered with sculptured upvc conservatories for instance and the desire for uncluttered floor to ceiling glass has filtered through to the general market, but there is not in my view a good variety of design options other than adapted re-cycled conventional conservatory answers.

I believe the way forward is to tap into this modern movement with conservatories the same way that Ultraframe has moved orangeries forward into the 21st century. This may not answer all of the present problems but at least it will bring some excitement and enjoyment back!
