If you want to create an all season area in your garden, a place where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature in all her glory, Decking is a brilliant idea. You can install Decking in a relatively short period of time and anyone with basic DIY skills should have little problem fitting a new deck on their land.

Of course, there are some things to think about before you can begin laying Decking and the type of material is just one factor to consider. At one time people simply bought wooden Decking, there weren’t any other options. Today though, new types of Plastic decking are available and it’s proving to be extremely popular on various garden improvement projects.

Wood warps

One of the main problems with wooden Decking is has a tendency to bow over a period of time. The wood begins to warp once it’s been fitted for a while and telltale cracks also start to show in the Decking. You don’t have this problem with Plastic Decking that’s made with a combination of hardwood fibres, softwood fibres and industrial polymers as well. You tend to find Decking of this nature is more stable and it wears better over a period of time.

It still looks just as gorgeous as wooden decking but you’ll find the plastic variety is more durable and long lasting over a set period of time. Why bother with traditional timber when plastic Decking offers long term stability?

What a load of rot

The other significant benefit of Plastic Decking is the fact that it’s impervious to rot. Where traditional timber is vulnerable to moisture, fungal infection and rot, plastic varieties of Decking are free from these concerns. You lay this style of Decking with total confidence knowing that it’s going to provide you with many years of pleasure. It’s a zero maintenance type of Decking that’ll look just as wonderful numerous years down the line as it does with it’s first fitted.

So if you’re planning on fitting a little Decking this year why not consider plastic versions that make fabulous garden features?
