The Wall Street journal has named the New York Botanical Garden as a garden of earthly delights. The garden is believed to be the center of ecological preservation because you will be able to find all kinds of natural attractions such as ponds, hills, waterfalls, all kinds of plants, trees and flowers etc. There are many historical buildings that include many century landmarks and the Victorian Conservatory. There are several other outdoor exhibits like a rock garden, a 40-acre woodland, special collection of conifers, a collection of native varieties of plants, conifers and lilacs etc. There is a huge library in the garden that is one of the biggest in the country. Various kinds of educational program are offered to the visitors.

The New York botanical garden was founded by the efforts of Lord Britton. He was a Botany professor at the Columbia University. Though founded in 1891, it was open to public in 1900. Many people love to visit such garden to explore the beauty and variety offered by nature. If you are planning a trip to the garden, the easiest way to get there is through the Metro-North Railroad. The garden is situated across the street of the Botanical Garden station on the Harlem Line. You will need to travel only for about 20 minutes if you catch the train from the Grand Central Terminal.

Driving is another option if you wish to visit the New York botanical garden. Parking facility is available too. The subway can also be taken if you wish to visit the garden. Take B, D or other 4 trains to Bedford Park Blvd. Then take the bus or walk to the garden. Some of the annual events include the orchid show in late February and the Holiday Train show in late November to January. The working days are Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 6.00 pm. It remains closed on Mondays, Christmas and Thanksgiving.
