The best feature of these plants is that you can fit them in any garden you want.The features of hedging plants are countless, and cannot be summed up here. • Boxwood Hedges: These are the most common types of hedge plants used in different gardens. The characteristic features of these plants are broadleaf and evergreen upright shrubs. They usually grow in the shady conditions. They are evergreen, which means, they provide protection the entire year. Different shapes of boxwood hedges are present. You can find spherical shape, upright or slender, and use them accordingly. The lifespan of these plants is long, about 300 years.

• Evergreen Hedges: Another common type of hedging plants is evergreen shrubs. These are excellent for placing at the borders. They act as good decorative plants at the border lines. They are very protective by nature. They are also easier to grow than deciduous plants they take less time for pruning and trimming. However, these plants are prone to damage. Snowfall can cause lots of damage to these plants. However, some varieties of evergreen plants that resist snowfall.

• Dwarf Hedges: These hedge plants are perfect for small landscape and gardens. They can grow at places that are very small and other plants cannot thrive. The height of these plants is very small, just about few feet. The best examples of these plants are Hancock coralberry, Nine Dwarf and blue Leaf Arctic.

• Fast growing hedges: Fast growing hedges are excellent for the replacement of manmade barriers and fences. You can use them at the boundaries as they are really good for making natural boundaries. You can grow them fast as they reach the desired height very soon. They are available in different shapes and sizes. You can use them to protect the garden and decorate it too. The most common examples of these plants are Cheyenne privet, dogwood and purple leaf sandcherry.

• Garden Hedges: These are one of the most versatile hedges that you can use in any landscape or garden. They can be used in any part of the world. They are beautiful, striking, intricate shrubs that change the outlook of your garden completely. They are preferably used in the sidewalks. They make good natural boundaries and provide excellent protection for the garden throughout the year.
