watch Newlyweds online is about a young couple whose honeymoon is interrupted by a bunch of family members. It stars Burns, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Max Baker, Marsha Dietlein Bennett and Kerry Bishe. On his Twitter, Burns explained that he went “hat in hand” to make the film, concluding, “True, you do need a few grand [to make a movie]. But you used to need a few million.”

Buzzy (Burns) and Katie (FitzGerald) are a newly married couple living a seemingly conflict-free life. But when Buzzy's damaged and impulsive half-sister arrives at their doorstep hoping to stay for an indefinite period in their Tribeca loft, her antics threaten to disrupt the couple's commitment to an "easy" marriage.

watch Newlyweds online is both written & directed by New York-born actor-filmmaker Edward Burns, whose directorial filmography includes The Brothers McMullen, She's the One, Sidewalks of New York, The Groomsmen, Purple Violets and Nice Guy Johnny last year. This had an early premiere at the Amsterdam Film Week and played at the Tribeca Film Festival. It's getting a very limited release starting December 26th this winter.

Edward Burns’s newest film Newlyweds closed out the Tribeca Film Festival this year, and the director/writer/star is happy to tell you how he allocated the $9,000 in its budget: “5k for actors, 2k insurance, 2k food and drink. 9k in the can.” That’s according to Burns’s Twitter, which is a pretty fun and inspiring scroll for independent filmmakers. Edward Burns' ultra-low budget -- make that super ultra-low budget -- film "Newlyweds" will be released by Tribeca Film this year.

Burns made the comedic relationship drama for $9,000. The movie, shot over 12 days in New York City, premiered at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.

The actor-writer-director kept expenses minimal: $5,000 for actors, $2,000 for insurance and $2,000 for food and drink. There were no fancy lights and no boom mics, and the actors wore their own clothes and did their own hair and makeup.

"Newlyweds," as the name implies, is about a newlywed couple whose honeymoon period "is upended by the arrival of the husband's wild-child baby sister and the crumbling marriage of the wife's meddlesome sister."

Burns cut his teeth on low-budget films. His 1995 "TheBrothers McMullen" had a budget estimated at $238,000 and grossed $10.4 million domestically. His 1998 "No Looking Back," however, was made for an estimated $5 million and grossed only $222,000 domestically.

"Newlyweds" is the 10th movie that Burns wwrote and directed.

In addition to Burns, the cast includes Caitlin FitzGerald ("It's Complicated"), Max Baker, Marsha Dietlein Bennett and Kerry Bishe ("Nice Guy Johnny," "Scrubs"). Burns produced with Aaron Lubin and William Rexer.
