The main aim of writing research paper is to permit people to use the paper selectively. The entire paper might not be required for a person. It can be happened that a person needs to know about the method used in the paper. Another person seeks for only the summary part for his own research or needs interpretation of results. Apart from that many journals need some specific sections to be added and that will be submitted in the listed order. Every section will be starting with a new page. The formats of journal articles depend upon the courses as well. It varies from course to course. Combinations of result and discussion have been applicable for some journals where other format includes methods and materials in the part of body. The famous Science journal includes separate section together apart from the abstract.

Common style for journal

Though the format of journals vary from topic to topic but there is some common style of writing which one needs to follow before submitting the papers.

To make a paper readable

• Standard font size, 12 should be used whether it is typed or printed. There are some common fonts which can be used in the journal. They are Times New Romans, Bookman, Geneva, Helvetica etc.

• 1 inch margin should be there along with double spaced in Text on 8 1/2" x 11" paper with single sided, 1 inch margins.

• Page numbers should be given one after the other

• For start up with a new section, new page should be used

• Stick on to specified page limits

Rule for all sections of the paper

• Use normal style of writing and articles ("a", "the," etc.)

• Always focus on research topic of the paper

• Important points should be separated through paragraph (Apart from abstract)

• The first line of every paragraph should be indent

• Present your points in sequential order

• For well accepted fact always use present tense. For an example” Sun rises in the East”

• Specific result should be described with the help of past tense.

• Informal wording should be avoided, the jargon should not be used, using slang is strictly prohibitive, and superlative degree should not be used

• Do not use excessive pictures. Use those figures which are required to present results

• The following points to be included in the report Executive summary/ Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review /Methodology, Body of the report, Findings, Conclusion, Appendix and Bibliography
