Unconditional Love for the Parents by Their Child
There was a friend of mine named Dinesh, he had a daughter of four years. When my friend came back from his office, he saw his daughter Sweaty wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Father had financial woes, so he got furious when he saw his daughter doing that activity. He reprimanded her and asked her to do the homework. Sweaty was decorating a box to give a gift to her father and put under the tree just to hide it. In the next morning, Sweaty gave that gift to her father and said “This is for you Daddy." My friend got embarrassed and felt ashamed for his previous over reaction, but at the same time he was happy too for the gift.
He opened the box and he bust with anger again when he found the box was empty. He gave her a dirty look and shouted at her: DON’T YOU KNOW when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside of it??? He was about to beat her daughter but the little girl looked up at him with full of tears in her eyes and said, Oh Daddy it's not empty, I blew kisses into the box , all for your Daddy. The father felt guilty for his wrong behavior, he hugged his daughter and asked for the forgiveness. Sweaty sobbed for a while and told that my teacher has taught me that through gift you can show your love to others, so I was trying to make you feel that how much I love you. The father couldn’t stop his tears and apologized her. He kept that gold box near his bed for years and whenever he feel dishearten, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there. In a very real sense each of us has been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.
Children should always be loved for who they are, and not for what they do. Parents can obtain this when they separate the child form the behavior. They should always communicate with the child about their behavior and tell them frank if they don’t like the kid’s behavior. It has nothing to do with the love, but unfortunately sometimes the parents get shattered because of the pain caused by a child’s improper behavior. Parents always get frustrated and they behave differently with the child if they committed any mistake. This is not the right way to make the child realize about their mistake and it’s important to remember that unconditional love starts simply by making a cognitive choice. Bringing up the child with unconditional love means there is no fear created in parent child interactions. To love unconditionally simply means that parents accept their children completely and without restrictions or stipulations. The child needs to experience total acceptance from both parents, but primarily from the mother.
