Sociology is not only the scientific lay out of the society but also the blue print of the human activities for the development of the society. Sociology is also called as a social science that studies society and the individual in perspective where we live. The origins of sociology lie in the 19th century but during the period between1960—1970s it became a major social science subject, taught in universities, colleges, and schools. The scope of sociology is extremely wide, ranging from the analysis passing encounters between individuals in the street up to the investigation of world wide social processes.

Sociology is fundamentally related to the term Society. Man needs society for his living, working and enjoying life. We can define society as a group of people who share a common culture, occupy a particular territorial area and feel themselves to constitute a unified and distinct entity. It is the mutual interaction and interrelations of individual and group.

Study of humanities and Human culture is also very important segment in sociology. The concept of culture was rigorously defined by E.B.Taylor in 1860s. According to him culture is the some total ideas, beliefs, values material cultural equipments and non –material aspects which man makes as a member of society. Culture on one hand is an outcome of society and on the other hand society is able to survive and perpetuate itself because of the existence of culture. In conclusion we have to say culture is an instrument by which man exploits the environment and shapes it accordingly.

Human culture gradually develops and transform to social norms which is also very important phase in sociology articles. Social norms generally differentiate human social behavior from that of other species. The significance of learning in behavior varies from species to species and is closely linked to processes of communication. Only human beings are capable of elaborate symbolic communication and of structuring their behavior in terms of abstract preferences that we have called values. Norms are the means through which values are expressed in behavior.

Our social system consists of two or more individuals interacting directly and indirectly in a bounded situation. There may be physical and territorial boundaries but it is appropriate to regard such diverse sets of relationships as small groups, political parties, and whole societies as social systems. Social systems are open system, exchanging information with, frequently acting with reference to other systems.

Socialization is predominately an unconscious process by which a newborn child learns the values, belief, rules, and regulation of society or internalizes the culture in which it is born. Socialization includes the knowledge how things are caused and the establishment of emotional links with the rest of he members of the society. All these things will be vivid in their mind for a long time if we give them a demonstration through Science Project for kids.

A few books on sociology like 1) Social Change by Wilbert Moore, 2) Exchange and Power in Social life by Peter Blay, and 3) The Sociology of Modernization and Development by David Harrison may be an essential guide to you.
