The essence of being a sportsman comes from experiencing myriad challenges on the field and in real life as well. It takes years of practice, deep understanding and knowledge to get hold of a particular game for life. Any sport in the world requires great deal of devotion in order to gain mastery over it; however, sportsmanship is a rare quality which anyone possesses. Those who achieve it know its importance in a game. This aspect of sports teaches youngsters to understand grace and gratitude, pride and honor and understand few yet crucial aspects of life. Life isn’t a bed of roses always;

if victory comes in one day then defeat comes in later. None can understand who is victorious unless they experience, both defeat and victory. The truth about any sport is the final outcome and it’s after effects on teams’ heart and mind. To be precise the result as a whole revolves around the fact of sportsmanship. Victory or defeat are the only two aspects of any game, either of any two teams face it one way or the other.

In today’s world morality is kept in dark, while the understanding about any particular sport is always kept on the front with the zeal to win no matter what way is adopted. Such an attitude is one of the most unethical ways of displaying sportsmanship. This idea is not related only with sports but other fields as well including life. There are times when people spill sarcasms and critically use some form of denial to acknowledge a person’s capability. They tend to make fun of them and become diplomatic about their statements. During such situations children need to remain calm and composed, they should show their respect towards them and be polite in conversation. As far as their comments are concerned a one line explanation for them will suffice to satiate their bubbling hearts. Sportsmanship teaches children endurance with pride and emerges victorious. This development takes considerable time and effort as well as experience in order to understand its meaning and importance as a concept.

There are a few rules which constitute in good sportsmen and make them true winners too. Firstly, victory should be the sole aim yet with ethical rules bring kept in mind. Secondly, any team which experiences defeat at another teams’ hands should accept it with grace and happiness rather than sulking or blaming their own team or by using derogatory words against any opposite team. Both teams should greet each other after their match and praise each other’s will to win and efforts too. Thirdly, there should be no indulgence of foul play from either of the two teams. Motivation and teamwork are extremely important to win any match if not loose. Youngsters should pay respects to each other’s team in order to appreciate their teamwork and co-ordination. Such an attitude will eventually mature and gradually growing children will understand it meaning.
