When we turn adult we love our fashionable clothes and every voguish item but during our childhood days our world is limited to the toys and the chocolates. Kids feel cheerful when somebody offer us new toy or packet of chocolates. They really get happier and it brings smile to their face when they play with their favorite toys. Toys are the perfect partner for the kids and it is not only confined to the fun and entertainment for the kids. Earlier young people used to play with whatever material they can find like pine cones and rocks. Egyptian children played with dolls which had wigs and movable limbs; thousand years ago it was made from stone, pottery. Children use to play with dolls made of wax, terracotta, sticks, yo-yos in ancient Greece and ancient Rome. Greek children, especially girls, when they turn adult, it was customary for them to sacrifice the toys of their childhood to the gods. On the eve of their wedding, young girls around fourteen would offer their dolls in a temple as a rite of passage into adulthood. There is lot more regarding the history of the toys which will take plenty of time to go through it. However, we should focus on how to choose appropriate toys for the baby. Some of the tips are listed below:
1. Your baby will not get much enjoyment with the toy which is too advance and they may hurt themselves. Your baby may like playing with a toy made for a 2-year-old
2. A baby will enjoy a toy that stimulates one or more of his senses. A colorful mobile is stimulating to the sight; a musical toy will stimulate hearing
3. Make certain that the toy is strong and well-made. The paint or finish on a toy should be nontoxic with no sharp edges or corners
4. Select the toys that are washable to prevent bacteria growth as child has the habit of putting everything into their mouths
5. Toys that are too small or have small removable parts can be a dangerous as it can lead to choking risk
6. Toys that have strings or ribbons longer than 6 inches are unsafe for your baby due to the risk of strangulation
7. Make sure that all stuffed animals are safe. The eyes must not be made of small pieces that can be pulled or chewed off. Be sure the stuffed animal has no loose wires and strings and that it is well made
While choosing toys for kids, parents must keep safety measure in their mind. Toys must not have sharp edges, uncomfortable fabric and loose parts. One can find cost-effective toys that can please both parents as well as kids.
