What is the concept of a play school? A play school is a place where little children in their tender age learn the basic walks of life and spend 1-2 hours each day under the supervision of a couple of teachers who are trained to teach these kids. The supervisor-child ratio should ideally be around 1:10 for a good play school in order to uplift the standard of a particular playschool. Playschool has become an important and significant part of a day to day life of a couple where both of them live a life of a corporate.

Play schools have a lot to offer, and that the play schools should not be aimed at developing academic skills like reading and writing. Main motif of a play school should be apart from the stress course curricula for the child and there should be no set goals or any stress on performance; the focus should be on the sensory-motor development and the social development of the child.

These playschool acts as an agent which polishes the child behavior apart from what a child learns at home with the parents.

Now the question arrives that how these playschools go about achieving this goal? Playschools in Delhi even helped mothers’ toilet-train their children. Practical example also helps the children in training for their useful day to day activities which a child takes months to adhere under normal circumstances.

At home, this kind of learning is not at an optimum level. In a play school the supervisors focus on teaching children the age-appropriate behaviors through observation and imitation.

Most of the playschools especially in metros like Delhi and Noida have language and listening room, a motor skills room and a drama and theatre room. Such spacious playschools not only provides variety to the child in terms of learning and polishing their skills but also helps the parents in making the right decision for their child. As a child learning habits develops from an early age which they carry till the end.

In the motor skills room for instance, children are made to pour water from one tumbler into another and then repeat this exercise using a funnel.

Another activity is 'fishing'. Here, children are given magnetic rods using which they 'fish' for cardboard fish with metal tags. In the drama and theatre room, nursery rhymes are enacted and the children participate in role-play exercises. Such activities enhance the skill set of children and they turn out to be smarter and quicker in a high school when they grow up.
