Visiting to Newcastle City
Newcastle nightlife is legendary, once voted in the top 10 nightspots in the world, the place is positively buzzing. The city as diversified its drinking establishments in the last ten years. No longer is it a strict choice between the Quayside and the Big Market, new areas of city have emerged. The area around the train station has firmly established itself as a rival for its share of the weekend wallet share. Close by the train station is the firmly established Gay village, found in the west end of the city. Newcastle on a night out is a great experience. But Newcastle is not just about pubs and clubs; there exists a massive array of shops, restaurants and other attractions to ensure a great weekend.
I have not touched upon one massive element that has defined with North East City that is the football team. St James Park as developed into one of the premier football stadium in the country and can be seen as you approach the city on the train. As can be imagined there is a range of hotels in Newcastle to cater for the all budgets as this city continue to grows into a must visit City. But if you are looking for a little bit of luxury after a busy day shopping and before a great night out then considers staying at the Malmaison Newcastle, located in the Quayside. Or if you want spend not as much then why not consider the Jurys Inn Newcastle, located near Newcastle Chinatown and Football stadium.
Price, quality and as they say location, will usually determine where you stay no matter where you go. Visiting Newcastle is no exception with the options of Newcastle City Centre, Quayside, Central Station, and Jesmond, which is just out of town, or further afield in one of the local North East towns.
The beauty of Newcastle is that is not that big of an area with most of it within walking distance even from the Central Station it is only a 5 - 10 minute walk to the City Centre or 20 minutes to Jesmond. It is also relatively flat until you venture down to the Quayside where you may want to take a taxi or bus on the way back. The Metro is also a fantastic way to get around the City and further afield with short Journey's such as the one stop from the central station to the monument only taking a couple of minutes and the airport journey is only 20 minutes.
