Located along the Mediterranean Sea, Valencia is a lively city and is also quite big making it to the list of Spain’s largest cities. The location means that it has splendid beaches which are some of the attractions calling tourists from all parts of the world to the city. It is especially very crowded during summer months when the climate is friendly and pleasant. There are lots to do during this time including beach sports such as tennis, diving and even cycling.

The nightlife of the city boils and it has lots of cultural value to offer. It is definitely one of the best places to spend a holiday in Spain. There are great places to go sightseeing in Valencia and listed below are some of the hot spots that you can never miss while in the city.

Old Town: it has amazing monuments and happens to also be the oldest part of this town. Among the highlights in the Old Town include the gothic style cathedral, Octagonal bell tower which is the city’s landmark and the museum located within the cathedral. There are other churches and basilicas within the town which are worth checking out and enjoying their great architectural designs. The other interesting buildings that you will find here include palaces and convents.

The River: the three bridges which are very old are what make the river a major attraction. You will also find an amazing museum by the river bed and contains modern arts from Spain. The river bed is also a great ground for all kinds of leisure activities and sports and you will find it to be very interesting.

La Lonja: here you will find a beautiful plaza which has a wonderful palace that dates back to the 15th century. It is currently a government seat. The wall paintings within the palace are of particular interest. La Lonja also has a square which has some of the best and popular monuments include the magnificent stock exchange 1483 building. Other highlights that you will find within the area and its surroundings are palaces and learning institutions such as colleges and Universities.

The Gardens: La Lonja also has beautiful gardens and has actually always been referred to as the flower land. The gardens and parks are impressive and romantic and there is even a zoological garden here.
