Useful Links in Digital Time Table of Railways
Indian Railways operates 65000 km routes serving about 7500 railway stations in the country, maintains not only online reservation site through IRCTC, but also a comprehensive train time table, erail.in.
Earlier times, Indian rail time table was printed region wise and distributed. They were printed every half year and released for the benefit of commuters.
The printed regional time tables of Indian railways were also carrying All India train information, while detailed arrival departure details would be given for the trains of the region. A time table reader had to browse through a number of tables to find the route of travel.
The time table of Indian railways also used to carry a railway route map, few pages describing the fare structure, rules and regulations pertaining to rail reservations.
But things have changed and we are in digital world and Indian Railways has rightly chosen to create the digital Indian rail time table smartly appearing as ‘e-rail.in’ portal.
This portal of Indian rail time table enables the user to select the main station to find the train timings and get all the information with couple of clicks. The portal is well distributed with a number of links, whilst the main tabs give you facility to find your train and related details.
