Sightseeing in Sharm El Sheikh

Located on the coast of Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh is a stunning beach resort city that regularly attracts visitors from every corner of the globe. While many people are content to simply soak up the sun on the beach for a while, those with a strong sense of adventure can book a tour of the area through their Sharm el Sheikh hotel, which will take them to attractions such as Mount Sinai, St Catherine’s Monastery and the Burning Bush.

St Catherine’s Monastery

Built between 527 AD and 565 AD, St Catherine’s Monastery is home to the largest collection of illuminated manuscripts to exist anywhere in the entire world with the exception of the Vatican. Situated at the very foot of Mount Sinai, many people venture inside St Catherine’s Monastery to say a prayer to fortify themselves for the tough climb to the mountain’s summit and to gaze at the magnificent artwork that can be found inside.

The Burning Bush

Located inside a chapel at the foot of Mount Sinai, the Burning Bush is an extremely rare rose species called Rubus Sanctus. Relocated to a specially built chapel during the 10th century, the Burning Bush attracts Christian pilgrims from all over the world and people pause here to pay their respects before climbing Mount Sinai.

Mount Sinai

One of Egypt’s most famous attractions, Mount Sinai measures an impressive 7,497 feet high. It goes without saying that climbing to the top of this mighty mountain offers some of the best views in the whole of Egypt. However, Mount Sinai is also believed to be the place where Mohammed’s horse ascended to heaven while Christian’s believe that God gave Moses the 10 commandments here.

Terrazzina Beach

One of Sharm el Sheikh’s most picturesque stretches of sand, Terrazzina Beach is a great place to chill out for a while. After exploring Sharm el Sheikh’s other interesting attractions, visitors can take a much-needed break by simply lounging around on the sand and swimming in the cool, clear waters.

Ras Mohammed National Park

Those who can bear to tear themselves away from the beach for a few hors will want to take a trip to Ras Mohammed National Park. This is one of Sharm el Sheikh’s most popular snorkeling and scuba diving locations as a richly diverse range of marine creatures can be found in this area, and trips can last from an hour or so to the entire day as there is plenty to experience here.

Seven Elders of Israel Amphitheatre

Located halfway up Mount Sinai, the Seven Elders of Israel Amphitheatre is a popular place to stop and soak up the scenery while attempting to conquer the mighty mountain. Featuring a large number of religious statues and other artifacts, archeologists travel from all over the globe to see the wonders of the Seven Elders of Israel Amphitheatre. After taking the time to admire the stunning scenery from the entrance to the Seven Elders of Israel Amphitheatre, explorers will find a wide range of ancient treasures here.

Naama Bay

Offering a wide range of amenities such as restaurants, shops and choice of excellent Sharm el Sheikh resort, Naama Bay is one of the most popular hangout zones in the whole city. In fact, few visitors manage to make it far from the main beach, perhaps moving occasionally to cool scorching hot skin in the aquamarine water and dine in style at one of the excellent restaurants that line the beach.
