Seville has a rich historical background as this region of Spain was ruled by many different civilizations. There are many museums with rich art work and numbers of people come to visit these museums every year. This article will guide you through some of the best museums in Seville.

Regional Archaeological Museum:

This museum is located in the famous Plaza de America and it has preserved a rich history from the Roman era. This museum remains open for the visitors during all days of week except holidays and Mondays. There are a number of monuments kept in this museum which were found from the neighborhood city Italica and all these belong to the Romans era. The museum also has objects belonging to the Tartessian era and many other similar monuments. This museum is located in the building which was designed and built during 1929 by Anibal Gonzalez fro the famous Latin American Exhibition.

Fine Arts Museum:

Fine Arts museum is located in Plaza de Museo and you can get to this place through the C1, 2, 3, 4 and 43 bus routes. This museum remains open on all weekdays except Mondays and also on holidays. This museum has restored a great work of many famous artists like Valdes Leal, El Greco, Zurbaran and Velazquez. This museum is situated in the La Merced’s Old Convent and this convent was constructed during the 18th century by Juan de Oviedo. You will also love the collection of Murillo work which is kept in the church of the convent.

Italica’s Archaeological Collection:

This archaeological collection museum is located in the Santiponce Village which is located close to Seville and this museum contains the great archaeological work of this region. You can also visit the amphitheaters which are located near by the village and other town called Hadrian which is famous for the lovely sculptures from the Roman era.

Cathedral Museum:

This museum is also known as Museo Catedralicio in the local language and it is situated in the Chapel, antechapter and halls of Cathedral and it contains precious collection of painting, jewels, gold and relics. This museum is a real treasure and you will be amazed by the beauty of artistic work present here.

Museo Taurino:

This museum contains the famous work related to bull fighting from all ages and it also contains the famous cape which was painted by the renowned artist Picasso and there are many sculptures present which were made by Benlliure.
