Oman is one of the oil rich countries of the Middle East but in recent years it has also grown popular for the tourist attractions present in it. It has a long coast line of 17000 km which makes it an identical place for water activities and sports. Combining these activities with the natural sceneries and historical heritage present in Oman makes it a heaven for the tourists.

Royal Opera House is Oman’s principal setting for musical art and culture and one of the most preferred places to visit in Oman. It is situated in the Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat, the capital city of Oman. Built on the orders of Sultan Qaboos and opened on October 12th, 2011, this Opera House first featured an opera conducted by Placido Domingo. It has a maximum accommodating capacity of 1100 people and is the first studio in the world to be equipped with Radio Marconi's multimedia interactive display seatback system. The top listed places to visit in Oman include Muscat Coast. This is the most accessible part of the Oman Coast. People normally go to this beach to go on dolphin watching trips being offered by various tour operators. The species commonly encountered during the trip are spinner dolphins which through their spinning dives make the viewers joyful and the dolphin watching tour desirable. The other species that can be seen during the tour are common dolphins. Bryde's Whales, Humpback Whales, Risso's Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, False Killer Whales and the occasional Killer Whale can also be seen but on a less occasional basis.

One of the other favorite tourism places in Oman is the museums of Salalah, the largest city of southern Oman. The best time to visit the city is between June and September because of the tropical landscape of Salalah. The most famous museum of Salalah is in the fort of Sohar. These museums have safeguarded the legacy of the city. Al Musnad writings, currency and antique sculptures of eleventh century can be found in these museums. The museums are closed on Thursday and Friday while remaining open on the rest of the days in a week.

The Sultan’s armed forces museum is considered a great place to visit in Oman. Although at first it may sound unexciting but this fascinating museum is not only restricted to just the presentation of military assets. Though mostly used as headquarter for military purposes, it was built in 1845 at Bayt al-Falaj in Muscat to serve the purpose of a summer house. A wide-ranging sketch of Oman’s history is presented in the lower rooms while upper rooms survey international relations of Oman and military proficiency.

Wadi Shab is considered one of the most fascinating wadis of Oman even though its parts were damaged due to the cyclone. There are many date palms and small farms inside the wadi. Along the way there are many pools of spring water. It is situated in the village of tiwi which is located in the south of Muscat. At the end of the wadi, there is a pool of water present where enormous jumps in water can be made which is quite daring and fun to do.
