Goa, situated on the western coast of the Indian Peninsula, is one of the smallest states of India. However, in terms of tourist potential, the state ranks very high. Since it is bestowed with a long coastline, Goa is filled with numerous splendid beaches, each having its own splendor and grandeur. Apart from the magnificent beaches, it has some great historical monuments that are worth visiting. Being under the colonial influence of Portugal in the past, Goa has some beautiful Portuguese architectural buildings and historical churches.
