Alluring Sancti Petri at Chiclana

Sancti Petri Island lies in front of Chiclana coast. It is an idyllic island with a lot of amazing landscapes and legend. It is situated close to Cadiz which is on a peninsula right in the center of a bay. Legend has it that the Temple of Hercules is located somewhere in Sancti Petri Island. It was supposedly the most renowned temple found in western Mediterranean with a date as far back as the Trojan war. Chiclana is situated on the Bay of Cadiz and functions as a major city in the province.

Chiclana can be easily accessed through Cadiz to enjoy the natural beauty all around. The sunset views are breathtaking which draw many tourists to spend time here. One can spend long hours watching the sunset with their loved ones. This is an idyllic spot for couples and honeymooners. It is a great spot for one to relax and truly unwind if one wishes to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life or the concrete jungle living for some time,

The beach at Chiclana is known as Playa de la Barrosa. It is a very popular beach as it attained the covetous Blue Flag award for its quality. The La Barrosa beach stretches 8 kilometers long with fine sand and constant sunshine. There are plenty of modern amenities of top quality to cater to the needs and wants of tourists. There is a plethora of water sports facilities for tourists to check out while enjoying their holiday at this Chiclana beach.

The 8km beach is divided into three sections called pistas. The first pista is a long promenade with plenty of restaurants, shops, gardens and entertainment. The second pista comprises residential homes while the third pista is the urbanized Novo Sancti Petri.

Novo Sancti Petri

This is a special section of Chiclana which is a well-developed enclave that is environmentally friendly. Well designed and beautiful landscapes don the area with preserved dunes and native vegetation. There are luxury 4-5 star hotels to pamper tourists; these are mainly located on the fine white sandy beaches. The shopaholics would enjoy the shops and sports centers in the area while avid golfers would enjoy their game at Golf Novo Sancti Petri. 

There is the Sancti Petri castle remains for tourists to feast their eyes on. This castle was built in the 13th century. The structures are well maintained to offer the best of holiday environment to the tourists at this place.
