Fashion and Style: Urban Clothing, Hip-hop Clothing and Streetwear
Urban Clothing Urban clothing is a style of clothing that gives account to urban cultures. In general, urban clothing is teemed with hip hop and rap cultures. The urban style can be taken differently to some places. The youngsters of the generation make up most of the urban culture; although, urban clothing determines no age. Items of urban clothing include hoods, shirts with statements, sneakers, hats or caps, and some accessories usually in dark colors.
An informal outwear, urban style is diversified and may change over time depending on the fashion movement. Shoes for example, girls can still get hold of an “urban” look while wearing heels (despite the fact that heels are known to be classy). There is no particular color theme in urban clothing. The color choices are absolute and vary on your personality.
Hip Hop Clothing The popularity of hip hop music during 1970’s brought the inception of hip hop clothing. Emerged in 1980’s, hip hop clothing is characterized by large non-fitting clothe sizes, so too when it comes to accessories such as sunglasses or Cazals, chains and jewelries. Different sneaker brands are connected to hip hop clothing as well. Hip hop clothing spiked as early as 1990’s when it became well-known to many places, and more and more hip hop music is produced in the music scenes.
Progressively, people too, have been wearing large size clothing just like their favorite artists do. Streetwear Clothing Street clothing is a style of clothing inspired by the fashion movements on the streets. A style that keeps evolving, streetwear is casual clothing with no fashion rules. Fitted jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, baseball caps and accessories are bits of streetwear clothing. Most of the time, streetwear clothing is associated with some bold colors, statement or abstract-designed shirts. Streetwear clothing emerged in the early 21st century taking its stimulus from hip hop fashion. On the other hand, sneakers of streetwear clothing are oftentimes hip-hop inspired, usually hi-tops. An important idea of streetwear clothing is the limited edition items.
Genuine streetwear attire is those items that are difficult to obtain, exclusive and expressive. Although quite hefty in price, limited edition streetwear items express novelty; likewise, seeing many people wearing same design of yours is inelegant, and admit it, embarrassing. Streetwear is unique, not specific and voguish. Urban, hip hop, and streetwear are multi-billion dollar industries that filled the fashion world with unique and distinct designs, expressing individuality in their own ways.
