How to Manufacture an Electromagnet for Sale
Electromagnets are nothing but coils of wire fixed around a metal core that produces a magnetic field whenever electricity is passed through its surface. These are widely used in a large number of devices starting from computers to cars which makes the electromagnets for sale one of the most sought items in the markets.
However, for people who prefer to design such an electromagnet manually, the task is never going to be difficult to accomplish but for a successful design implementation, certain factors should be taken into serious consideration.
In most cases, home made electromagnets are made of a copper coil patched around a metallic base. The strength is calculated based on the number of items that it can attract. The materials that will be needed comprises of copper wire, ferrite rod, solder, soldering iron and tape.
To get started with the process, take the copper coil and tightly strap it across the ferrite rod. Remember to wrap the coil on one side of the rod only, that’s very important. Avoid any overlapping of the coils. Fasten the coils to the rods using a tape. After completion, repeat the same process but in an opposite direction i.e. from bottom to top. Two parallel spirals should be designed moving from bottom to top. Make sure that the coils are tightly fastened and do not slip at any stage later.
Next, take the free ends of the coil wires and solder them to a variable direct current (DC) supply. Set the voltage level somewhere around 5volts. Remember, over consumption of electricity can lead breakage of magnetic field and may damage the electromagnet. Therefore, it is advisable to use minimal electricity for best results.
