From the time a newborn comes along until they are about two years of age they grow so rapidly we can’t seem to keep up when buying clothing for them! They grow seemingly overnight into the next size and it can become expensive trying to keep them well clothed. It does help to have friends and family members who pass down their own babies barely used undershirts, gowns, sleepers, booties, and bonnets. Finding the right size in colors and styles we can appreciate may keep the selection down so there is still need to purchase some new baby wear from time to time. Look to the internet for some spectacular prices and a wide assortment of all those vibrant colors and modern stylish baby clothing.

Online stores that cater to the small fry are abundant and many of the web sites have page after page of quality, top brand baby clothing from which to choose. Pricing is very competitive and you can find free shipping offers quite often. Of course you need to make certain the sizing is correct for your baby so be sure to measure him or her. Sizing is generally standard but be sure to read any reviews given by customers because they will surely let you know if there are sizing issues such as “run true” or “tend to run small”.

The standard sizes follow guidelines as follows:

1. Newborn (age birth to three months) 56cm to 61cm or 18” to 23” in length and from 4.5 kg to 6.4kg (6 to 9 pounds)

2. Medium (age three to six months) 62cm to 67cm or 23” to 25” in length and 6.5kg to 8kg and from 68cm to 73cm (12 to 18 pounds)

3. Large (age six to nine months) 74cm to 80cm or 25” to 27” in length and 8kg to 9.5kg (19 to 21 pounds)

4. Extra Large (age nine to twelve months) 80cm to 86cm or 27” to 29” in length and 9.5kg to 12kg (21 to 23 pounds)

The above sizes are only a general guideline as some manufacturers have their own methods of measuring, particularly when designing clothing for infants and young children. Most major brands however tend to be consistent to those sizes and when you find a particular brand you prefer, stick with them if possible.

Colorful duds for babies Pink and pastel blue have long been the number one choice when choosing colors for infant clothing but modern technology involved in the processing and manufacture of materials have enabled the addition of brighter, livelier colors that won’t contain harmful dyes and chemicals. So go ahead and give that youngster a brighter day by dressing him or her up in reds, bright blues, green, yellow, and orange! Of course the blue for boys and pink for little girls tends to remain constant but bright combinations in the pattern of baby clothing make it possible to purchase one outfit that is suitable for either or both sexes. Baby clothing is universally popular for gift giving and keeping those colors neutral will work best for that baby shower or party.
