Babies are Allergic to What Foods
Food allergen 1: milk or milk powder
Reason: Babies are allergic to milk or milk powder mainly because of the milk protein in them, which is the large protein molecule. When consuming large protein molecules, baby’s body will have uncomfortable symptoms.
Preventive measures: For babies with a family history of allergy, mothers should keep breastfeeding. If the mother had no breast milk a few days after childbirth, it is best to use milk powder with low sensitivity (partially hydrolyzed protein) instead of ordinary milk powder. This problem concerns to the first mouthful of milk. The earlier the baby consumes allergens (large protein molecules of milk), the more vulnerable the baby is.
Food allergen 2: egg
Reason: Egg contains a substance that can make baby allergic—ovalbumin. When the baby eats eggs, ovalbumin can become allergen, causing the baby to become allergic, especially for babies eating eggs for the first time.
Preventive measures: egg white in the egg more likely to cause allergy than egg yolk. If only feeding the baby egg yolk rather than egg white, it not only provides nutrition but also prevents allergy. So for babies 6 to 9 months old, it is best to add egg yolk when they start eating solid food. Feed the whole egg until the baby is 1 year old.
Food allergen 3: pineapple
Reason: Pineapple contains bromelain that can digest protein. This enzyme can increase the permeability of the gastrointestinal mucosa, and gastrointestinal variant protein molecules can penetrate the blood flow. Coupled with differences in human sensitivity, babies will have allergic reactions.
Preventive measures: Not to add pineapple to baby too early. As for the subsequence of food supplement, it is better to arrange pineapple behind other fruits.
Food allergen 4: seafood
Reason: Seafood is fish, shrimps, crabs, shellfish and other animal foods from the ocean, containing a lot of protein. They have rich nutrients but likely to cause food allergies.
Preventive measures: It is best to add seafood when the baby is 18 months old. When adding, you should add a small amount of individual time; when you make sure the baby is not allergic to them, then add more or add new food supplement.
Food allergen 5: mango
Reason: In addition to protein, carotene and vitamins, mango is also rich in single hydroxy and acid, which can lead to allergies, causing mango dermatitis; especially not fully mature mango contains acid, having a stimulating effect on the skin and mucous membranes.
Preventive measures: Cut the mango into small pieces before eating, which can prevent mango juice directly contacting with facial skin, reducing the probability of allergies.
