Barrio Del Carmen

This is a very small place. This place is located in the north eastern part of the old quarter. This place has the lovely church of Carmen. This is a very old church. There are a lot of fountains and a lot of orange trees in this place.

This is a place where one who has artistic interests will enjoy. This is because there are a lot of places with the artistic interest. This place is mainly known for its culture and arts. It has a rich cultural heritage.

In case you are coming from the old river Turia then this place can be accessed easily. All you need to do is to cross the Serrano’s bridge.

The Serrano’s tower which is the Torres de Serrano’s and also the Torres de Cuart are the two gateways. These were a part of the wall of the Valencia in olden days. These two towers are the entrance of the Old Quarter of the Valencia.

The Serrano’s tower was built between 1392 and 1398 by Pere Balaguer. For almost three hundred years this place was used as the prison.

IVAM

When you make a trip to the place the IVAM is must see place. This is situated in the Barrio del Carmen. This is the Valencia institute of the modern art. Apart from thus there are also a lot of modern art exhibitions which one can visit. To relax one can choose among the various cafés and restaurants that are available.

Bohemian Area

A lot of palaces which are significant are in this area. However most of these town houses and palaces have been converted in to modern shops, clubs and restaurants where the tourists can enjoy. This area is mostly full of tourists and artists who enjoy this place. It has many restaurants, bars and clubs.

One can take a walk on a Friday or Saturday to have complete fun. This is when most of the action happens in the Valencia city. The night life here is really amazing. The nightlife begins really late here. It does not begin before eleven in the night. It extends up to wee hours in the morning.
