Job scheduling is used when one needs software to monitor background executions that are left unattended. Job scheduling is also know by the name Distributed Resource Management System or DRMS. It is very important to coordinate the background executions with the business activities. This is done on a variety of business environments.
A job scheduling software will have interface which help them to properly define dependencies in jobs. They are effective because they monitor the executions and submit the various executions automatically. One can have also control over what the software is doing as one can set priorities to control in which order the activities should be executed.
A job scheduler can be very helpful in an organisation because it can help with activities such as organizing staff attendance, manage overtime rates, managing the worker’s shifts and many more. This can be very helpful for an organisation and it can make managing the organization a lot easier.
Job dispatch is a totally different concept. Dispatch software is associated with the transportation industry. The transportation industry has to coordinate a lot of things together in order to get their job done properly. This is where dispatch software acts as a saviour. Dispatch software is designed in such a way that it can be used for a wide variety of transportation industries.
What dispatch software does is that it orchestrates the various parts of a transportation company such as the vehicles, drivers and goods. This ensures that all the activities of the transportation company are properly coordinated and thus ensures in the smooth running of the business.
Considering the magnitude at which the transportation industry operates, it would be impossible for the industry to function properly without the help of dispatch software.
Therefore, job scheduling and job dispatch are two very different things. They are very important for various organizations.
It is important to keep in mind that regardless of whether it is job scheduling of job dispatch that an organization wants to invest in, the organization should choose very carefully and make sure that the software that it chooses suits every requirement of the organization.
