Weekends in Tenerife are extremely popular among the people living within UK and some parts of South Africa and Saudi Arabia. However, people from other parts of the world also step in this fabulous Spanish island situated on the Santa Cruz province. According to a recent survey, around five million tourists visit Tenerife on annual basis.
The island is well connected through airways. It features two airports: REINA SOFIA & LOS RODEOS.
Of these two, the LOS RODEOS airport is smaller and features flight for regions around Spain as well other parts of Canary Islands. It also features for flights that travel to different European destination as well to Venezuela. By road, it is around 11 km North from Santa Cruz. REINA SOFIA is larger of the two airports and is one of the busiest in Spain. It is located on the southern part of the island, within the Granadilla de Abona Municipality.
Tenerife weekend will be a wonderful experience. It is not only the atmosphere but the cuisines that will also make you go wild. You need to try out the Canarian cuisines like wrinkly potatoes (with red mojo), Porc Tacos, Gofioescaldado, and Tibetan Tsampa.
Tenerife is filled with beautiful landmarks, parks, and museums. You will find around 12 to 15 different museums in this island. Some of most beautiful Spanish cathedrals can also be seen in this island. Pyramids of Güímar are a wonderful architectural masterpiece that is situated within the Charcona district in Tenerife.
