Types of Centrifuge and Centrifuges Usage
Author: aticolabequipments | Posted: 02.08.2012The rate of centrifugation is specified by the acceleration, applied to the sample, typically measured in revolutions per minute.
As per the usage of centrifuge, we can broadly divide them into several categories. General purpose lab centrifuge, High Speed Centrifuge, microfuge, refrigerated centrifuge and micro processor research centrifuge. The process of centrifugation for all these equipments are same, they vary according to their use.
General purpose lab centrifuges are truly versatile, when it comes to usage with stepless speed regulator. They possess a choice of rotor heads and adapters with a safety fuse.
As the name suggest, high speed lab centrifuges are designed for high speed centrifuging applications. The equipment is provided with speed control, digital temperature control cum indicator, digital timer, zero start interlock, and lid locking switch and is specifically used for pathological applications.
Microfuge centrifuge are used for Low Volume Centrifuging applications and are provided with stepless speed control, speed indicator and timer. They are used for laboratory as well as industrial applications.
Refrigerated centrifuge accommodates a large number of rotor heads of varying tube capacities. The equipment also features dynamic barke, lid locking switch, zero start inter lock and safety cut off in case of imbalance.
Microprocessor research centrifuge are environmental friendly equipment provided with CFC free cooling system, brush less induction motors, programmable micro processor control for pre setting RPM with a range of 100 to 20000, RCF temperature ranging from 10c to 40c.
