Whatever the case, this ancient rock provides us with a source of material to construct and create beautiful flooring and home furnishing options. Of the many types of rocks used in construction, granite has to be the most beautiful. With its smooth finish and dense composition, it’s ideal for floors, countertops and tables.

1.Attach a core drill bit instead of a masonry bit to your motor. It will be able to cut through the tough substance more easily.
2.Use a bottle cap to measure the diameter of the hole. Unless you have very specific granite tools, this should do the job perfectly. Place the cap opening face-side up. You can choose the size of the bottle cap based on how big you want the opening to be.
3.To ensure that the cap doesn’t slip and move around, use plumber’s putty to stick it onto place. Press the putty around the base of the cap to form a kind of barrier.
4.Pour a bit of oil into the cap. The putty will prevent from leaking onto the granite.
5.Beginning drilling into the cap for short durations of a few seconds each. Don’t remove the drill completely but let it soak in the oil to cool it down. Keep repeating this till you’ve drilled straight through or as far as you want to.
6.While the oil and the core drill bit will heat up, you needn’t worry about them burning up. To prevent the stone from being seeped in oil, use a brake cleaner to spray the granite and use an air compressor to blow. Next, wash it thoroughly with a detergent cleaner and a stiff brush. Not only will this remove the oil, but it will clean away debris.
