Right to Know Filing: Extended Deadline for Online Filing!

You thought it was great news when you learned you could submit your New York City Community Right-to-Know filing online. Now there’s additional great news for everyone who hasn’t finished submitting their report: the electronic filing deadline has been extended to April 1.

What a relief, because you could face costly fines for not reporting on time. Now you can use the extension to complete your Right-to-Know filing, and you’ll also be best prepared when it’s time to file next year. That’s because the electronic system is significantly streamlined and offers several advantages, including:

It’s easier and faster, with step-by-step instructions and drop-down lists you can simply click instead of tediously typing information. Less typing ensures greater accuracy, too.

All your information is retained so next year you won’t have to re-enter everything again. You’ll only need to make additions or changes.

It’s less expensive, because you can skip the $20 fee for a hard copy of the filing package.

With online Right-to-Know filing, you can:

View, modify or even print each Facility Inventory Form (FIF), when you’re finished or page-by-page as you go.

Easily search the Online MSDS Library or Department of Environmental Protection Library to pull each MSDS you need to attach.

Attach site plans or other documents.

Use a single username and password for all your reporting, even if you have multiple facilities and therefore multiple submissions.

Pay online, by credit or debit card. For multiple submissions, the system will calculate a single total payment.

Electronic filing is easier, faster, more accurate and cheaper. And with the extended deadline, you can avoid submitting your Right-to-Know filing late after all.
