Denby China Find started back in 2002. I had worked in the Financial Services industry for some 30 years and as a hobby I started to buy and sell Antiques and Collectables. I was mainly interested in Pottery and China from all eras. I was going to Auctions purchasing items and then selling them from rented space in various Antiques centres. I bought some Denby at auction at a good price and then marked it up individually for sale in my various sales outlets. The items started to sell well so I bought some more and that was how it began. I ended up just selling Denby and all the Antiques and Collectables were long forgotten.
The Denby sales continued to increase and I was then able to reduce my work within Financial Services and concentrate on the Denby. I started to sell a few items on eBay which was still in its early years of operating, again the items sold well and I was making some reasonable profits. I then decided the next step was a Website which initially I designed myself but in a year or so later I had a professional one created. Denby China Find is now a small but enthusiastic firm offering a complete discontinued Denby Matching Service with nationwide and worldwide delivery and a friendly efficient service
About our Service
Denby China Find is based near Horsham in the UK, it deals exclusively with Denby China and Pottery replacements. We provide replacement pieces of Denby china that is no longer available as new stock. These replacement pieces are no longer being produced by Denby Pottery and are classified as "discontinued". Once Denby's "discontinued new stock" has depleted the only way to replace items is from a company like ours. The majority of the items we stock are therefore "second-hand". This second-hand Denby China/Pottery has been purchased from customers who no longer wish to use their Denby service.
There are many reasons why customers wish to sell or replace their Denby, colour scheme changes within the household, an incomplete set due to breakages over the years, services which have been inherited or simply they just want a change! They then approach us via the Selling Form on our website and we provide them with a quotation for their unwanted Denby. Having purchased customers unwanted Denby we then stock all the different discontinued patterns and are contacted by customers, on the other side of the fence, who are looking to replace pieces so that they can continue to use their old Denby sets. When selecting replacements for customers we always like to ensure that the items are in the best second-hand condition that we are able to purchase.
About our Philosophy
We are a small organisation but we are very enthusiastic about what we do. We believe Denby customers should be able to continue using their Denby China/Pottery and purchase replacements or additional items, even after it has been discontinued. Many of our customers have a sentimental attachment to their Denby. Many people received Denby as a Wedding Present, some inherited their Denby from a loved one and some spent many years collecting it. Our aim is therefore to ensure our customers can continue to use and collect their Denby pattern even though it is no longer in production.
