Chengdu City Centre Shopping

Those living in Chengdu enjoy ample green space and pleasant year round temperatures. It is an important regional hub which has created a very prosperous city. This prosperity is enjoyed through the many shopping outlets that can be found distributed among a variety of streets and narrow alleyways.

Chengdu is filled with magnificent modern shops, markets, teahouses, malls and restaurants; enough to keep even the most seasoned shopper entertained. Those staying in Chengdu city centre hotels will find that their hotels provide nice shopping opportunities with localized stalls and boutiques. Staying in the city centre will also have you within easy reach of additional shopping facilities and able to enjoy a wide range of traditional Chinese shops and modern Western malls.

A main shopping district is Zongfu Road Shopping Zone. Here you will discover almost everything one could desire in a shopping experience. Choose from familiar modern products at great prices or search for traditional items in one of the many specialty stores. Keep your eyes open for the narrow shopping areas that branch off the larger main malls as that is where delightful stalls and shops sell beautiful clothing, bargain jewellery, foods and other amazing items.

Jinli Street is another local favourite. Decorated in old Chinese style, it can easily be found just a 15-minute taxi ride from the city centre, along the Jinjiang River on Zongfu Road. This area is open all day, and well into the evening, and is more known for its tourist shopping. Here is a great place to pick up souvenirs, arts and crafts, clothing and jewellery. There are also a great many places to grab a bite to eat.
