The good thing about hotels in Rotterdam City Centre is the fact that they are perfectly located to navigate the city. This means attractions and activities are close by and lots of time is not wasted getting to and from the things to do while on holiday.

Families

Those who are travelling with families, particularly children, will find there is plenty to see and do in and around Rotterdam so that the children will not get bored. The Euromast is a great place to start. Take a trip to the viewing platform near the top of the tower and enjoy scenic 360 degree views. Even those who do not have a head for heights may find it enjoyable and the restaurant, located a more manageable 100 metres up the tower, also offers excellent views. The Rotterdam city zoo is also a favourite with children. There is a wide range of animals to see and plenty of fun activities for them to enjoy once inside. Just 23 km from the city is Madurodam. Here visitors will find a model village that is truly amazing. Boats move along the rivers, planes taxi on the runway and the railway runs all around the village. The gift shop is a great place to pick up souvenirs of the visit.

Other Highlights

Harbour cruises are a great way to see some of the sights of the city from a new perspective. It is also ideal for passing an hour or two at a relaxed pace. For those who love to see the local landmarks, the Rotterdam Cube Houses should not be missed. The cube houses have no straight walls inside and can be a little awkward to furnish, but are an amazing display of modern architecture. They are located in the Blaak Square, at one end of the Blaak Market.
