Child Development- a Reading of Their Changes
“Old men can make war, but it is children who will make history”, an apt quote referred by Ray Merritt, a distinguished author. Children are the future of any given country; precisely, they are the lifeline. This lifeline needs to be guided on the right path towards a better future in order to get a productive output out of them. For a good future of the youngsters parents need to inculcate right habits from the start among them. Behavior patterns are one of the most important parts in it. It is an accepted fact that a person’s behavior reflects the kind of family he belongs to and gives the other person a fair idea of their personality. The molding into a fine citizen needs to be seeded from the beginning in order to morph them into good thinkers and various factors of development. Right from infancy, they start learning, first by signs and symbols and in later stages by conversing with their family members.
A child’s development starts with reading, writing, analytical and logical reasoning. These skills sets develop gradually and mature as soon as they start getting into contact with the outside world. The’ eagerness to learn’ is essentially of vital importance. In fact, children having this quality progress faster. During the period of learning there won’t be any phenomenal changes yet their learning and memorizing will keep on going. The growth takes place physically, mentally, socially and emotionally; all these factors play a huge role in the overall development of children. Physical development takes place in the form growing height, bone development, physical strength and muscles development. It is imperative that parents need to be extra vigilant about their growth in order to give them a good physical body. Children need to eat a nutritious diet and exercise to remain healthy.
Social skills are an important part of development. Such changes take time to come to the fore and mature under the guidance of family members. The contacts which children establish with the outside world also help them learn and know more about the art of conversation which is a need for everyone. In later stages, they develop feelings of respect, hate and also learn diplomacy and politics. Cooperation, sympathy and empathy are other parts of social context which are important to learn and play a critical role to get success in life.Emotional development is an aspect which matures in children from time to time while getting new experiences. Trust, mistrust, independence, responsibility are factors which develop with numerous experiences which they experience throughout their life. Emotional maturity plays an important role in knowing oneself.
All these development leads to an overall development in the personality of a child; from infancy to adulthood, countless experiences and contacts make people define themselves at last. The true self of anyone for that matter never comes out until they experience all kinds of feelings. Only after having all such experiences they can make true judgments’ about themselves and others as well.
