Industrial clothing
Yesterday, I went in a glass making factory. I was left dumb struck at how much hot it was in there. As soon as I set my foot in, I was welcomed by a heat wave. At that moment, I wished that if only I could just turn back and sit in my car’s ac. But I wanted a firsthand experience of the things. And once I was inside, I realized the importance of industrial clothes. Industrial clothing is the uniform which is designed for special jobs like factories, law enforcement, military, auto industry etc.
The basic purpose of this uniform is to protect the wearer. Every employer must ensure the safety of their workers. No matter what the job, you must be safe. Industrial uniforms are also worn to give a collective identity. For example doctors in hospitals wear lab coats, nurses and ward boys have their own uniform. A uniform gives you an identity and authority on behalf of your organization. A military uniform instill a feeling of unity and team work and also provides protection according to the army specifications. Some of the other purposes of industrial clothing are like to be highly visible, like when repairing a highway road, to provide protection from heat, chemicals, hazardous material and radiations. Industrial clothing includes apron, high visibility jackets and shirts, head gear, fire resistant coveralls; anti static ESD etc. it also includes other protective items like eye goggles and face masks to keep the face and eyes of worker, safe from fire, heat, wind, dust etc. Steel toe footwear is another popular protective gear. These types of footwear are used where the job requires handling and lifting of heavy machinery and equipments. These steel toe boots with their puncture resistant soles protect the workers from slipping and accidentally injuring themselves. Hence it results in increased efficiency. Welder’s jacket is another type of industrial clothing. It protects the wearer from molten metal which can burn and seriously injure a person. Restaurants also use industrial clothes like apron, butcher coat, chef hats, chef coats, chef pants and cook jackets. Whereas protective material like Kevlar vest are included in police uniforms.
Different types of fabrics are used for different uniforms. For example, to make commercial clothing, poplin ant twills are used. Whereas, according to the specification of U.S. military, rip stops are used in their uniform. Before buying industrial uniforms, you must keep various factors in mind like price, longevity, maintenance, comfort, safety provided etc. The price you pay in buying these products are very less they value of your employs. Your workers are the backbone of your factory. Safe workers mean a tension free factory owner and when the workers will feel safe, it will increase productivity and hence your profits. Ensure their safety by buying proper industrial clothing.
