What is exceptional hardship? This is a common question that many people ask these days when they come to know more about this term. Well to make people understand more we should first know that this term has no statutory definition. In general we can say that it is hardship that goes beyond what a person would have normally suffered. Exceptional hardship can arise in many situations where a person is responsible for serious traffic violation that also includes death by dangerous driving.

In such cases, the court imposes a restriction on the driving license of the person, rather we can say that the person responsible in banned from driving at all. In general if a person gets 12 penalty points in his or her license in three years then that person is called for a hearing where either is charged with money and the disqualification of license for 6 months. In few different cases the person is banned from driving completely or for certain number of years. If there are extremely strong arguments present that can prove otherwise only then will the person get redemption from the exceptional hardship. There are few ways out from such incidents. If it can be shown to the judge that the result can affect your family members or dependents or similar issues, then such cases can be termed under exceptional hardship and the term of penalty will be less. At least a ban on driving wont ne imposed at all, though a few restrictions might be imposed on the type of driving of that person.
