Top Medical Colleges in Punjab India and NEET Exam Overview.

The medical colleges in the state of Punjab offer medicinal education in Ayurveda, Homeopathy, pharma, nursing etc. Punjab is becoming a key hub for excellent colleges in the field of medicine. Few of the well known medical colleges of Punjab are the Govt. Medical College, Amritsar, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, and Homeopathic Medical College, Abohar. To get into the undergraduate program students must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate examination or its equivalent with at least 50% of marks including Physics, Chemistry and Biology, from any recognized Board.

One of the top medical colleges in Punjab is the Govt. Medical College, situated in Amritsar. It has been the top most medical college for the past five decades.

Guru Gobind Singh Medical College is governed by the state government of Punjab and is affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. It offers MMBS and various post graduate level medical courses recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college aims at providing a conducive learning atmosphere with its modern infrastructure and the state of the art facilities to the students. The selection of students is made through the PMET conducted by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research was established in 2006 and is approved by the medical Council of India (MCI) and is recognized by the state government of Punjab. Permitted by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare it is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. It offers MMBS course of five and half years duration along with internship.

Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, Punjab, was the first medical school for women. Since 1999 this college is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Its medical and para-medical teaching staff and other staff come from nearly every state in India. Christian Medical College also includes Dental College, College of Nursing, and Institute of Allied Health Sciences.

Homeopathic Medical College, Abohar was established in 1975 and is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and approved by the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi. It is managed and run by Bhai Kanhaya Sewa Society, Bathinda. It offers undergraduate course in BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery). The course is of four and half years duration with one year of compulsory internship.
