Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) is the latest technology that uses fast broadband internet connection to make voice call and not the traditional phone line. Some VoIP services only allow to call anybody who has avails the same services, but with others, people can call anywhere including traditional phone line, mobile phone, and international call. Further, some services only works with computer or special VoIP phone while others can function by using the traditional phone with VoIP adapter.

There are certain equipments which are required to use VoIP such as a fast internet connection, a headphone with mike, need for other equipments shall vary as the service provider requirement. Some of them give special modems/adapters while other only connection.

VoIP services have definite advantages over the traditional phone call like, it is much cheaper than traditional one, it is more secure and it has a superior voice quality. However, there are few things for which the traditional phone has an edge over it like, it does not work during power outages and not all service providers provide power back ups, it may or may not be connected with emergency services and it does not have telephone directory support.

As far as the potential use of this new technology, which is still in advancing mode, is concerned it is the futuristic way of communicating. It can be utilise at home, in office, shops, in hotels, and practically everywhere. Especially new entrepreneurs can take maximum advantage of it. This is of great significance to businesses with sure edge over the traditional phone line. Various service providers deal in business VoIP services. They can design a plan as the requirements of the company. Businesses can also take advantage of increased competition among these service providers, this can make companies to negotiate the prices of services and further reduce the cost of calling.

Companies and organisations with a active VoIP services can put their operations in a fast communication mode as business VoIP services offers variety of options to them, they can now have faster conferences with multiple people and that too with low cost, with the help of this technology now they can reach their customers in a hassle free manner, it also offers fast in organisation communication.

Future is nothing but what we make it and this is a human endeavour to keep improving things around him. With this idea the future of VoIP services is as bright as sun and it will change the way we are developing as human being.
