Student visa UK allows foreigners to come to the United Kingdom to study in a recognized school, college or university. You will need a student visa if you are not an EEA national, are stateless, hold a non-national travel document or hold a passport issued by an authority that is not recognized in the UK. There are different types of student visa UK which depend on your age, length and level of the course that you want to study.

• Tier 4 general is for adult students who want to enter UK for their post-16 education. It is for those aged 16 or 17 years and want to study a course at or above national qualification framework level 3 and need a sponsor.

• Student visitor is for adult who wish to undertake short course of study in the UK like English language course or work related training. This visa is valid for 6 months to 11 months. You cannot work and cannot extend the visa.

• Prospective student is for people who need to finalize their arrangements for their course of study in the UK.

• Child visitor is for children who want to study a short course in the UK and will not work while they study.

You will need to fill in one application form, according to the type of application you make. However a separate application form must be completed for each person that is traveling with you.
