Buddhist tours are one of the most spiritual tours for any traveler who wants to know the real meaning of Dharma. Buddhism was found in the northern India, the country which houses a wide range of monuments and locales related to Buddhism. It is in the countries including Nepal, India and Bhutan where Buddhism was first started. Buddha was born here, attained full enlightenment, turned the wheel of Dharma twelve times and finally, Buddha entered into Parinirvana.

There are several Buddhist pilgrimages that are flocked by the pilgrims from all over the world in large numbers. The India Buddhist tour includes places such as Lumbini, Sarnath, Bodh Gaya and Vaishali etc. We would speak at length about all these places and more in the following article.

Lumbini: This place is located near India Nepal border. It is here where Lord Buddha was born in 556 BC. There are many auspicious signs of Buddha in around this place. It includes the famous Bodhi Tree. It is surrounded with a beautiful garden in Buddha’s time which retains its legendary charm and beauty.

Bodhgaya: It is located in the state of Bihar in India. It was here only where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree and came to be known as Lord Buddha. This devotional place teaches that nothing is permanent in this world. The site which attracts the tourists is the Mahabodhi Temple which must be visited during your India Buddhist tour. This place also houses three monasteries that cater to the local as well as foreign visitors.

Sarnath: It is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his five disciples. He preached the middle path for attaining Nirvana. There are several attractions for the pilgrims and they include the Ashoka’s pillar, Lion Capital, Huge Dharmek Stupa, the ruins of Mulagandhakuti and more. These sights are a must see for the followers of Buddhism who are on their India Buddhist tour. It is great place for meditation.
