About Kochi Airport
Kochi International Airport, also known as Cochin International Airport (CIAL) or Nedumbassery Airport, is one of India’s busiest airports. Kochi Airport is in Kerala, close to the city of Kochi. Cochin, the name for Kochi during British rule, is near India’s south-western coast. Kochi Airport reopened after intensive rebuilding in 1999. It currently serves around 400 aircraft every week, with nearly four million air passengers travelling to and from the airport every year.
Restaurants
Several restaurants serve patrons at Kochi Airport. You can choose western European cuisine, varying from French to Italian, to burgers and fries, to local cuisine. There is also a steak house, a French brasserie called La Vie, a New York sports bar showing American football and other sports, as well as fast food restaurants.
Food and Drink Kiosks
Alternatively, you can choose a quick bite to eat from the food and drink kiosks in the central hall of the airport. There are small delis, bakeries with fresh sandwiches, and curry and chicken ‘grab and go’ stands.
Tea, Coffee, and Beverages
You can also relax from your travelling schedule by sitting down for a cup of tea, coffee, or other assorted drinks. This is also convenient if you are meeting friends or family, travelling to or from the airport.
Finding a Place to Stay
There are a number of Kochi Airport hotels from which to choose. Most of these are a short car or bus journey away from the airport. You can check the route to your hotel online, or ask a staff person at one of the airport’s help desks.
