Great Christmas Vacations – Europe and the Scandinavian Countries
The much-awaited winter season is back and our Christmas vacations are also nearing. No doubt, winter is the best part of the year and we all would like to enjoy the winter vacations with our family and friends. I hope most of you are already geared up for the winter vacation. Anyway, if you are a little perplexed as to where to spend your vacation this winter, I would like to give you a few useful suggestions so that you don’t have to browse through various websites, spending one full day amidst other works and it kills your time. When you say winter vacation, there are a few things that come to your mind like snow skiing, dog sledding, and staying on ice hotels. If you are not a travel bug and don’t prefer travelling to different places in your tour, you can opt for winter camping.
I would suggest Europe would be an ideal place in your destination list for this winter vacation. There are umpteen numbers of places to visit in Europe and a trip to these places will be like a trip to the entire world. Here are some of the most preferred spots in Europe.
Let me give you a brief outlook on the places in Europe. It’s a well known fact, suggested by data, that Europe is thronged with a lot of American citizens any time of the year. Americans are overwhelmed by the historical monuments and cultural heritage of this beautiful continent. Some of the most famous tourist places in Europe include the Eiffel Tower, Acropolis, The Roman Coliseum, Tower Bridge, Edinburgh Castle, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, La Sagrada Familia, and Cathedral Notre-Dame.
Europe is a continent of 48 nations and it’s going to be impossible for anyone to visit all these beautiful places in just one trip. So let me highlight some of the best places you could consider on your short trip to the contingent of Europe.
Switzerland
Since Switzerland is a small place, attractions and activities are pretty close to each other and it’s best to use the local train that runs in the important places in the city. Alps covered with snow takes the center stage of Switzerland. Whether you want to enjoy skiing or want to do mountain climbing or trekking or sightseeing or shopping, Switzerland is the best place for you. If you are a fervent admirer of nature, then this place scores in that area too!
Rome
Rome is the capital of Italy. This place is well-known for its museums and historic monuments. By admiring the sight of the sculptures and statues, you will get a feeling as to how the ancient age looked like. When you go to Rome, don’t miss to catch glimpses of the Vatican City. Just observe the ancient Roman belongings and you will get a feeling as though you are the Emperor of Rome. If you believe in luck, make a wish at the Trevis Fountain.
Norway
This is yet another wonderful place to spend your winter vacation with your family. Whether you want to do activities like skiing, climbing, cruising, or ice fishing, this is the right place for you. You can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Vigeland Park in Oslo or even the Akershus Castle for that matter. Sognefjord is another beautiful place, which any tourist to this country should never miss out.
A useful suggestion for people who are touring the huge continent of Europe would be to plan and decide the places that you are going to visit in your short trip. But once you visit Europe you will definitely feel like coming back for your next vacation! The holidays are fast approaching and you better plan it well ahead and catch a glimpse of the other world this time around.
