Australian Working Holiday Visa and Living in Australia
Australian working holiday visa allows young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to have an extended holiday supplemented by casual employment for up to 12 months in Australia. The primary purpose of your visit must be holiday, but you are entitled to seek employment to help fund your stay. Working holiday visa is valid for 12 months from the moment your first entry in Australia. You can leave and re-enter the country as often as you want and remember that the time you spent out of Australia within those 12 months still counts as part of your time allowed in the country.
You are allowed to do any type of work as long as it is temporary or casual work, but you should not work in the same position for more than 6 months without prior permission. You can extend your visa if you have worked in regional Australia as a seasonal or construction employee for 3 months on your first year working holiday visa. Working holiday visa second year allows you to extend your stay from 12 to 24 months and it can be applied for in or outside of Australia.
To be eligible for an Australian working holiday visa you must:
• Be aged 18 and 30 years at the date of your application
• Not have any dependant children
• Have enough funds to support yourself when you arrive in Australia
• Hold a passport from an eligible country valid at least one more year.
• Have not receive an Australian working holiday visa before
• Have not any serious criminal convictions
• Have medical certificate
