Have you ever wanted to learn more about the 19 Pueblos in Albuquerque, New Mexico? Why not visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center located conveniently near numerous Albuquerque hotels. The cultural center is ripe with the traditions and history of the 19 Pueblos located in New Mexico. Descendants of the indigenous Native American people, the townspeople of the Pueblos welcome any and all visitors. While not all villages offer camping facilities, you are bound to find many hotels in Albuquerque New Mexico that will fit your needs. Fret not about the Albuquerque lodging and take time to learn and prepare for a visit to one of the 19 Pueblos.

First up, call ahead. Many of the Pueblos will sometimes hold religious, private, tribal ceremonies in which access to the general public is not granted. In these cases, tribal leaders will forego visitors until the ceremonies are finished. Calling ahead to confirm event dates will ensure that you and your loved ones will have a chance to visit and tour an authentic Pueblo. If access to a certain day is restricted, check with one of the local hotels in Albuquerque New Mexico for alternative activities.

After checking with your Albuquerque lodging concerning local events, check in with the Pueblo of your choice to see if they are hosting their frequent “Feast Days”. The Pueblos will typically open up their Feast Days, full of cultural dances and songs, for public access. At Feast Days, you and your family can learn more of the tribal members’ culture, language and religion. Pueblo Feast Days take place on the same dates each year with local tribes’ people preparing food and activities for visitors and family.

For information on a guided tour of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, check in with the nearby Albuquerque hotels for contact and tour information. Pueblos will usually offer senior and adult group tours at $4.00 a person with a group of 10 or more. In addition, guided tours must be arranged at least two weeks in advance of the tour date and will typically last approximately an hour. Make sure to keep in mind that guided tours are unavailable during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, Pueblo Days and arts markets.

So don’t wait, and make a trip to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center today! With various Albuquerque hotels nearby located conveniently for your lodging, it is bound to be a wonderful learning experience for you and your family.
