Things to Do on a Weekend in London
Imagine booking into a hotel near Paddington Station and getting ready to enjoy a weekend away in the City of London. What better way could there be to unwind and enjoy a complete change of pace for a couple of days?
It's true to say that whatever you want to do in London, you are sure to find a wide range of activities there you can look forward to getting involved in. It all starts with booking a hotel of course, whether you book one near a station or try something like the Metropolis Hotel London. Once you have your budget sorted out you can look forward to enjoying a superb weekend away booked into the hotel of your choice.
Once you have the hotel booked, it's time to decide what kind of weekend you want to have. Lots of people head up to the city to enjoy a weekend of shopping. This can be ideal just before Christmas when you have lots of presents to buy, but it can also be perfect in the January sales. Any time of year would be good, but these are among the most popular shopping trips you could take.
Another popular activity in the city is going to the theatre. You have two options here: you can either book tickets for a specific show ahead of time, or you can queue at one of the ticket booths or box offices across the city to see if you can get tickets on the day of a performance. Remember though that you can never be sure you will be successful if you opt for the latter solution.
If the theatre isn't for you, don't forget you can take some amazing walks around the city too. There are more green spaces in London than you might think, not least through some of the Royal parks. Every one of them is worthy of a closer look, but this is not the only type of walk you can go on.
One of the most popular ways to see the best of London on foot is to go for a guided walking tour. You've probably heard of the Jack the Ripper tour that goes round Whitechapel, where the murders took place. It's a gripping but grisly way to spend an evening! Alternatively you can take a tour during the day to see some of the best sights in the city.
Once you have enjoyed your first day in London you can head back to your hotel near Paddington Station and enjoy a nice meal. Alternatively go back to the Metropolis Hotel London and decide how you will spend the next day of your trip. In any event you can see there is plenty to do in the city, no matter what your goals are.
