The hot-spots that London has to offer

By Daniel Henry Subscribe to RSS | July 18th 2012 | Views:

Waterloo is one of the most visited stations in London. With over 88 million passengers a year travelling into this South London terminal, it details the popularity of the city. Waterloo station is home to a rather substantial rail terminus and London Underground system. The station is used by commuters, tourists and visitors to the city. There are over 50 services an hour with regular journeys in and out of Portsmouth, Southampton, Surrey and the South East, plus many more. London Waterloo station also has several connections running on the London Underground, with services on the Bakerloo, Jubillee, Northern and Waterloo & City lines. This makes London accessible to people from all over the country and beyond. Hundreds of people flock out of the station at rush hour, bargaining over who got to the Waterloo Station black cab first. Avoiding this time of the day is recommended, as the hustle and bustle can be a bit much for those that aren’t familiar with the area.

Amongst many of the hot-spots that London has to offer, the nearby London Eye is by far one of the most popular. There are plenty of attractions to see in the city, all of which are easily accessible via Waterloo. Take a tube ride, a stroll, or journey in a Waterloo Station taxi and travel across London taking in the sights. Waterloo is also in close proximity to the South Bank where there are a number of great things to do. Visit the Southbank Centre, it’s the largest single-run arts centre in the world. Conjoined to this wonderful venue is The Royal Festival Hall and The Hayward Gallery, where you can see major art exhibitions, music and concerts. If you have some hot-spots in mind and they are dotted all over the city then it might be a good idea to travel by foot. In between locations you can take in the views and beauty that is waiting to be explored. Tourists may consider this as an option, especially if they have never been to London before. The capital is a interesting and exciting place for newcomers, as there is lots to take in. Even those that have lived in the UK or London may have never stopped and taken time to see what the area offers. Just near to Waterloo station there are many theatres, museums and galleries that you may consider visiting. Travel a little further afield and into the West End by a Waterloo minicab and explore the cultural sights and wonders that make this city so special.
