The Costa Blanca

By Kerry Thomas Subscribe to RSS | January 4th 2012 | Views:

The Mediterranean paradise Costa Blanca, is located on the Spanish cost in the province of Alicante. Enjoy a location that offers a beautiful landscape with both mountains, subtropical ambiance and hundreds of kilometers of sandy beaches.

Not only Costa Blanca, but the entire region is known for its pleasant and sunny climate, a fact that attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Though, ”the land of sun” - as it is often called - is not only a pretty face, it also offers high quality tourism facilities. Join the local festivals for a mayor cultural experience, taste the real Mediterranean cuisine or just relax on one of the many beaches. The past years, this Spanish getaway has especially become a magnet to English and Scandinavian sun-seeking visitors.

Travel along the coast on the National Highway Carretera that will lead you to one beautiful destination after the other. Start up in the province’s capital, Alicante, to soak up the Spanish coastal culture and continue on to Elche and its forest of tropical palm trees. Don’t miss Costa Blanca’s own little haven Torrevieja, and later keep on driving to Guardmar and Santa Pola. Next stop on the map will be Benidorm and its breathtaking skyline, cool theme parks and great sightseeing.

Altea, is located 50 km northwest of Alicante and only a stone cast away from Benidorm and promises to be the most charming destination on the whole coast. Let the calm yet vibrant atmosphere relax you while you can enjoy the architecture and live music in every corner of the street.

Having relaxed in Altea, there is no better place to keep that feeling but in the little beach town Javea. Continue along the coast to picturesque Villajoyosa and walk around in the Old Town and its beautiful facades and city walls that remind of an ancient Roman time. This is also the place to be and to be seen on one of Villajoyosa’s many summer festivals. After festivals and fiestas in villajoyosa, move on to Denia, a small seaside town with cosy terraces and a rich fauna. When you get tired of the quiet vibe, join the fun in one of the coast’s theme parks in Aqualandia, Mundomar or Terra Mitica in Benidorm or at Rio Safari in Elche.

Costa Blanca provide high class tourism facilities and accommodations, ranging from five star hotels and luxurious villas to budget hostels for the adventurous backpackers.
