Billy Elliot: The Musical, Victoria Palace Theatre

Billy Elliot: The Musical has one multiple awards in the UK, USA and Australia and is regularly quoted as being the best musical stage on London’s stages today. An adaption of the Oscar-winning film of the same name is an inspiration story about a young boy who dreams of swapping his boxing gloves for ballet shoes and attending the Royal Ballet School, but meets with incredibly adversity. With music by Elton John accompanying the moving story and an incredible talented cast, it’s easy to understand why this musical has picked up so many awards.

The Lion King, Lyceum Theatre

After 13 years of captivating crowds in London’s West End, the Lion King still regularly sells out. The theatre adaptation of the popular Disney film brings the Serengeti plains of Africa and the story of Simba and his journey to become the King of Lions to life, with incredibly costumes, majestic stage settings and an evocative, award-winning song list. This musical is an emotive and visual feast.

We Will Rock You, Dominion Theatre

Set in a futuristic world where rock music and individualism has been outlawed, a band rebels however rise up, led by the young champion Galileo, and fight back. With 32 of Queen’s classic hits, We Will Rock You blurs the lines between a musical and a rock concert. As the longest running show at the Dominion Theatre, this musical picked up the 2012 Lawrence Olivier Audience award for most popular show.

The Phantom of the Opera, Her Majesty’s Theatre

Based on Gaston Leroux’s gothic novel of the same name, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s multi-award winning musical is perhaps one of the world’s most favourite theatre productions. An epic story about a mysterious phantom living beneath the stage of the Paris Opera House and terrorizing the theatre in efforts to make the beautiful Christine the leading lady of the opera house. This moving and haunting musical is the longest-running show on the West End.

Thriller – Live, Lyric Theatre

Thriller is a tribute to the incredible career of the King of Pop, the late Michael Jackson. With spectacular dance routines, electrifying special effects and a two hour soundtrack of non-stop Jackson hits, Thriller is sure to spellbind the audience, even those who were not big Michael Jackson fans.
