Kerala Tours for Tryst with Nature

By Adam Broad Subscribe to RSS | April 13th 2012 | Views:

“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.” There are very few places on earth which can mount up to such expectations. Kerala is one such place on this earth where opportunities for tryst with nature are available in plenty. Endowed with picturesque landscape which includes sleepy backwaters, golden beaches, lush hill stations and enchanting waterfalls, Kerala is an almost utopian destination for vacation amidst the lap of nature.

Whether it’s a romantic honeymoon vacation amidst secluded backwater region or a leisurely holiday at palm-fringed beaches, there is no dearth of destinations when it comes to Kerala tours. The most alluring aspect of Kerala tours is the backwater region which creates picture perfect moments for beautiful memories. The best way to treat your eyes with the beauty and serenity of backwaters is to travel aboard Kettuvalams (traditional houseboats) which in itself is amazing experience to the hilt.

The Kerala houseboats or Kettuvalams come equipped with all the modern facilities and bears close resemblance to the luxury offered by deluxe hotels. Alleppey, Kumarakom and Kollam are some of the best destinations for backwater tourism in this God’s Own Country.

Besides backwaters, this southern state has some scenic and languid beaches which forms an intrinsic part of Kerala tour packages. Adorned with swaying coconut palm trees and glittering sands, these beaches can be utilized for varied purposes such as leisure walks, sun basking and indulging in fun-filled water sports. These beaches are ideal getaways for honeymoon couples due to their fun element and secluded environs.

Kovalam is the most popular beach destination of this God’s Own Country. Apart from solitude, serenity and gaiety, Kovalam is also famous for its Ayurvedic resorts which have become a great selling point for tourism in this state. Ayurvedic massages are done with medicinal herbs and natural oils which are extremely helpful in providing rejuvenation and detoxification to the guests.

While coming to Kerala don’t miss the opportunity to breathe in the aroma of its breathtaking hill stations. Studded with loamy plantation of tea, coffee and scented cardamom and characterized by heavenly climate, these hill stations are capable of keeping tourists in their awe. Munnar, Wayanad, Idukkki and Devikulam are some of the hill stations that add to the beauty of this southern state.

Kerala boasts of rich wildlife treasure troves housed in various wildlife sanctuaries and national parks across this state. Periyar National Park, Eravikulam National Park and Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary are some of the renowned wildlife sanctuaries that put forth a real picture of wildlife diversity in India. One feature that some of these wildlife sanctuaries share in common is the boat safari which enables tourists to enjoy glimpse of animals swimming and drinking water.

Kerala tours allow tourists to rejuvenate in the lap of nature and witness nature’s best bounties from close quarters. Serene Beaches, sleepy backwaters, breathtaking hill stations, Ayurvedic therapies and rich flora and fauna, all these factors combines to provide ample opportunities for tryst with nature.
